Sustainability Summit to Focus on Central Ohio's Energy Future

August 12, 2015

The Summit on Sustainability is MORPC's signature environmental conference, bringing hundreds of community leaders together to explore and share sustainable ideas and solutions. This year's theme, Regions Matter, will focus on sharing best practices that can be applied by local governments, businesses and residents to improve the environment in which we live.

MORPC is pleased to announce that Reid Spolek, Manager of the Renewable Energy Strategy for Amazon’s Web Services’ data centers, will be a panelist during this year’s lunch program. The lunch program will focus on energy, an integral factor in Central Ohio’s growth.

The region is forecasted to grow by 25 percent by the year 2050, yet recent studies have illustrated an inefficiency in the regional use of energy in the transportation, industrial, commercial and residential sectors. Meanwhile, many companies are investing in cleaner, smarter uses of energy to improve operational excellence and reduce environmental impacts.

Join the conversation on October 2,, 2015 at the Hilton Columbus Downtown, to learn the importance of energy in the business decisions by prominent companies within our communities and the best strategies for continuing our competitive advantage and growth in Central Ohio.
