Save the Date for MORPC’s 2017 State of the Region
January 25, 2017
Save the date for one of Central Ohio's most significant events of the year. The 2017 State of the Region luncheon, MORPC's signature annual luncheon, will take place on Thursday, April 20 at the Columbus Convention Center.
This year’s luncheon keynote will feature Anne Schwieger. Schwieger works for the City of Boston Department of Innovation & Technology as Broadband and Digital Equity Advocate. In this role she supports the City in advancing access to affordable broadband connectivity, up-to-date digital tools, and enhancing digital skills that residents need to engage in the educational, economic, and civic pursuits critical to a future of equity, innovation, and opportunity for themselves, their families, and communities.
Schwieger also serves on the City of Cambridge Broadband Task Force and is the producer of Cambridge Broadband Matters on Cambridge Community Television. She holds a Master in City Planning from the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT and a BA in Biology and Society from Cornell University.
The State of the Region will showcase upcoming plans for Central Ohio and highlight community accomplishments. The Regional Leadership Award, the William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award, and the William H. Anderson Excellence in Public Service Award, will be presented at the luncheon.
