Individual Daily Prizes
Each participant can earn one entry per day into the prize drawing by logging a sustainable trip (carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, car2go, transit) on the Gohio commute calendar. Participants may earn a maximum one entry per weekday regardless of the number of times they log a sustainable trip. Prize drawings will occur on weekday mornings for the prior weekday. Winners will be notified within 24 hours of each drawing (with the exception of Friday winners, who will be announced on Monday) via the e-mail address they used to register for the Commuter Challenge.
To be eligible for the daily drawings, participants must log their eligible trips by 11:59 p.m. EDT each day. Participants may win a maximum of two (2) daily prizes per week (Monday - Friday). The Daily Challenge prize drawings will last from June 1 to June 30. Winners will be permitted to select a gift card from the approved gift card list and may choose to either pick up their gift card or have it mailed. Contest organizers are not responsible for any prizes that do not get delivered via, and will not replace the prize.

Individual Grand Prizes
For each day a participant logs a sustainable commute on the Gohio Commute calendar, that person will gain an entry to the Grand Prize drawing that will take place during the Commuter Challenge Award Celebration on July 5 at Columbus Commons from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. A total of 30 entries may be made per participant (one for each day of June).
There will be 3 grand prizes awarded at the end of the Challenge:
1st name drawn :: $200 Visa Cash card
2nd name drawn :: $300 Visa Cash card
3rd name drawn :: $500 Visa Cash card
To be eligible for the grand prize drawing, all eligible trips must be logged by Thursday, June 30, 2017 by 11:59 pm EDT. Participants may win a maximum of one (1) grand prize.
Winners do not have to be present to win their prizes. However, they must claim their prize within ten (10) business days upon notification of the award. After 10 business days, the original winner will forfeit their right to the prize, and a new winner will be drawn.
General Team Play
Commuter Challenge participants will have the opportunity to create or join teams of up to ten (10) members to compete for weekly and grand prizes. Once an individual joins a team, they may not change teams for the duration of this year’s Commuter Challenge unless special approval is granted form a Commuter Challenge organizer.
Teams earn points based on the number of days their members log eligible commute modes. Each individual may earn up to one (1) for their team per day, meaning a team can earn a maximum of 300 points throughout the duration of the challenge (10 points per day x 30 days in June). Teams will earn weekly and/or grand prize packs based on their position in the leaderboards for the given week and/or cumulative competition, respectively.
Weekly Team Prize Packs
Each week in June features a weekly travel-mode theme as follows:
Week 1 (June 4-10): Carpool/Vanpool
Week 2 (June 11-17): Transit
Week 3 (June 18-24): Bike (including CoGo)
Week 4 (June 25–30): car2go
Each individual can earn up to 1 point for their team per day by logging a commute within the specified weekly theme (e.g. carpool/vanpool for week 1, transit for week 2, etc.). All commutes must be logged before the end of the week (11:59pm on Saturdays). The top 2 teams with the most weekly points accumulated will be awarded a prize pack. Commuter Challenge organizers will contact the designated team captain and determine the best method of delivery for the prize pack. Prize packs can either be picked up at the MORPC office (111 Liberty St, Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43215) or hand delivered anywhere within the 43215 zip code.

Team Grand Prize Packs
A cumulative grand prize will be awarded to the top two (2) teams who have accumulated the most points throughout the duration of the competition (all of June). There are no ‘mode theme’ restrictions for the grand prize. One point can be earned per individual for any eligible travel mode (carpool, vanpool, transit, walk, bike, CoGo, car2go) per day. Points earned by 11:59 ET on June 30th will be tallied and the winners announced at the Commuter Challenge Awards Celebration at the Columbus Commons on July 5th. Team captains may choose to pick up their team’s prize packs at the MORPC office (111 Liberty St, Columbus, OH 43215) or have it dropped off anywhere within the 43215 zip code.

The Central Ohio Commuter Challenge is open to any individual 18 years of age or older who lives or commutes in the 15-county Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission area of Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Knox, Fayette Licking, Logan, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Perry, Pickaway, Ross, or Union Counties. Limit one registration per individual. Contest is not open to MORPC, COTA, CoGo, or car2go employees, board members or their immediate families.
Claiming a Gift Card Prize
Gift Cards may be claimed by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 1-800-742-RIDE. Gift Cards must be claimed within 10 business days of their awarding. If a prize goes unclaimed after 10 business days, it will be forfeited by the original winner, and a new winner will be drawn using the same entrants as the original prize drawing.

Claiming Team Prize Packs
Commuter Challenge organizers will alert the winning team’s designated team captain via the email address on file with Gohio Commute. The team captain will be responsible for claiming the prize pack. Prize packs may be picked up at the MORPC office (111 Liberty St, Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43215) or hand delivered anywhere within the 43215 zip code. Commuter Challenge organizers are not responsible for the successful delivery of prizes to individuals within a team.
Team captains must claim their team’s prize within 10 business days of their awarding. If a prize pack goes unclaimed after 10 business days, it will be forfeited by the original winning team, and the prize pack will be awarded to the team next-in-line (e.g. the team with the next most points accumulated).
Commuters who are physically unable to log their daily commutes on RideshareOhio are welcome to phone in their sustainable commutes and claim their prizes (1-888-742-RIDE). MORPC staff will ensure the diverse populations of Central Ohio may participate in the Challenge.
By participating in the Commuter Challenge, individuals agree to the use of their names, hometowns, likenesses and/or recognition information for promotional purposes in any medium without additional compensation, or notice to winners, to the extent permitted by law.
The Central Ohio Commuter Challenge does not discriminate against any individual or participant because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, sexual orientation and/or any other factor as specified in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and subsequent amendments.
