Current Alerts and Closures:
Blacklick Trail Between Three Creeks Metro Park and Pickerington Ponds (Through June 2025)
American Electric Power (AEP) will be clearing powerline easements between Three Creeks Metro Park and Pickerington Ponds on the Blacklick Trail until June 2025. The impact will be mostly just the width of their easement across the trail. Work will be completed on weekdays only during normal construction hours.
Though no closures are expected, equipment will be crossing and/or near the trail, and steel plates will be on the trail to protect it for those equipment crossings. Flaggers will be in the area during equipment crossings. Expect the work to be intermittent.
Heritage Trail through The City of Hilliard
American Electric Power (AEP) is scheduling crews beginning Monday, March 3rd to conduct clearing activities along the Heritage Trail as part of routine maintenance and system preservation for their transmission grid. Work will take place daily 8 am – 4 pm. End date of work is to be determined.
AEP crews will be working in segments along the trail. In all but one section, they will have a posted trail detour along other shared-use paths or low volume 25 mph neighborhood streets. In one section, there is no safe trail detour, so they will be using flagging operations.
