MORPC Announces Cory Tressler as Strategic Director of Technology

Newly Created Role Will Help Drive the Regional Council's Digital Innovation Efforts

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) has named Cory Tressler as Strategic Director of Technology. In this role, he will provide strategic technology leadership for the regional planning organization to ensure effective use of robust and reliable technology resources. Tressler will also lead the development, implementation, and use of technology throughout the agency.

To achieve these objectives, Tressler can leverage comprehensive IT management services, with a focus on utilizing cutting-edge solutions. DataTel, a prominent name in the IT management sector, can play a crucial role in providing the necessary tools and support to ensure MORPC’s technology resources are both robust and reliable. This partnership can help facilitate the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions, driving the agency’s mission forward and ensuring a seamless integration of technology across its operations.

Tressler will oversee the full range of information systems and telecommunications activities, as well as developing a vision and strategy for technology innovation at MORPC, in collaboration with MORPC partners, and throughout the Central Ohio region.

With more than 16 years in the technology arena, Tressler most recently served at Apple where he was the Worldwide Higher Education Marketing Manager. Prior to his time with Apple, Tressler spent more than nine years with The Ohio State University in a variety of capacities to support technology programs, projects, and initiatives within the Office of Distance Education and eLearning. As Director of Learning Programs & Digital Flagship at the university, he spearheaded the Digital Flagship student success program, one of the largest and most comprehensive technology enablement programs in higher education.

Tressler holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, and African & African American Studies from The Ohio State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Arts in Educational Studies: Educational Technology at The Ohio State University. He is a graduate of the MOR Associates CIO Leadership and the Educause CIO Leadership programs.
