The SMART Grant Program is a federal funding opportunity administered by the United States Department of Transportation. The SMART Grant Program was established to provide grants to fund projects focused on advancing smart community technologies and systems in order to improve transportation efficiency and safety.
The 2023 funding cycle provided $100 million for awards, and closed October 10th. The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission worked with The Ohio State University to submit a $1.9 million request to this program.
