MORPC established a rural services plan to address the unique needs of these communities.
MORPC serves rural communities by encouraging collaborative planning efforts to help develop local strategy processes to build community strengths and address challenges. By bringing subject matter experts into discussions and forums, MORPC provides valuable information and resources for rural communities to make informative decisions.
This forum is focused on how to start a zoning process in communities that have little to no zoning plans. Participants will learn why effective zoning programs help preserve valuable community assets while enabling leaders to plan for the future.
Registration is free to MORPC members and lunch will be provided. Nonmembers are welcome to attend at the $15 rate.
A final schedule of speaker will be uploaded closer to the program date.
A post event will be held in the Village of Somerset. Join Mayor Tom Johnson on the square of Somerset to hear his strategies on preserving valuable community assets and beloved charm while encouraging innovative practices designed to retain young people and add desired amenities.
