Central Ohio Water and Wastewater Planning Workshop

Planning Workshop

MORPC, in partnership with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA), will hold a workshop for municipalities and other local government leaders, county engineers, regional planners, elected officials, administrators, water and wastewater superintendents, consultants, and others interested in addressing water quality issues and wastewater planning and expansion efforts with the addition of the Intel, Hyperion, and further growth in the region.

Speakers will share funding and resources available for communities to move to a long-term strategic planning effort. This session is a professional training and learning opportunity for engineers and planners to exchange ideas, learn best practices, and discuss additional planning needs across Central Ohio.

Speakers to include Edwina Teye, Ph.D., MORPC, on Central Ohio water resources planning; Geddy Davis, Byrd Polar Climate & Research Center, on precipitation and the impact on planning; Ashley Ward, P.E., Assistant Chief, Ohio EPA Division of Surface Water, on wastewater planning in a growing region; and Jon Bernstein, P.E., Chief, Ohio EPA Division of Environmental & Financial Assistance on funding and resources available for planning.
