MORPC works to help low- and moderate-income households maintain and improve their homes through repair and energy efficiency (weatherization) programs. Each program has different eligibility requirements, so please review the information below to determine which program meets your needs. If you apply and are ineligible, MORPC staff will redirect you to other resources.

Freight Planning

Central Ohio is within a one-day drive of 45% of the U.S. population which makes the region an attractive location for logistics companies and businesses. The region’s proximity to key markets as well as major freight assets like the dedicated cargo airport at Rickenbacker and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) #138, which falls within top ten in the nation, have contributed to the region’s constant economic growth in recent decades. Over 20,500 businesses in the region are categorized as freight-reliant by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Government Affairs

Our team is hard at work advocating on behalf of the region in the halls of the Ohio Statehouse and U.S. Capitol. We work closely with civic leaders and partner organizations to prioritize the aspirations of our local communities and communicate those aspirations to elected and appointed officials.

Home Energy Efficiency Services

We offer home energy efficiency (weatherization) and safety services at no cost to income-eligible residents to help keep them warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, all while lowering energy bills. These programs are available all year to Franklin County residents.

Housing Advisory Board

The Joint Columbus and Franklin County Housing Advisory Board is a Franklin County Multifamily Bond Program administered by MORPC. The Franklin County Board of Commissioners has issued tax exempt or taxable multifamily revenue bonds for privately owned rental developments since 1994.
